Star Earphones/Cable Holder Free Pattern

Hi, I hope you're having an amazing week! I made this pattern because my earphones always get tangled in my pencil bag, and broke them eventually by pulling too hard. Now, I don't have to untangle them all the time and it adds such a cute touch ! :3

It's really easy and quick to make, so perfect for beginners! With this pattern not only you can make cable holders out of it, you can also turn it into a bagcharm or keychain!

Material list:

Medium sized yarn/5mm acrylic yarn in color of choice (I used blue for the star and yellow for the swirl)
5mm hook
Scissors
Embroidery needle
Stitch markers
Snap fasteners (optional)

Abbreviations:

mr = magic ring
ch = chain
inc = increase
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
FO = fasten off

note: this pattern works with joined rounds, meaning sl st and ch1 after each round

Star (make 2):

1. 5 sc in mr (5)

2. slst and ch1, 5 inc (10)

3. slst and ch1, (hdc, dc, hdc in one st, sl st in the next st)*5 (15)

Slst into the first stitch, FO and hide tails

Now we have 2 stars, Before start sewing them together, make sure both stars are aligned. The part where you made the slip stitches after each round, that should be the bottom part [see photo]. The stars are properly aligned when this part is facing the bottom.

This is where I have sewn the two stars together [left photo]. If you count the corners of the stars clockwise it the last corner, left top. Sew it around 2-3 times to make sure the stars are secured. Repeat the same step for corner of the other side of the star, or add snap fasteners.
